A Seat"
A Lanman Hall Renovation Project
Catholic Central High School is in the process of a major renovation of its auditorium,
Lanman Hall. Improvements made to the auditorium as of this date include:
- Upgrades to the Blue Room for costumes, make-up and calling
areas for productions. Made possible by a grant from the
Martha Earp Foundation.
- Refinishing the stage floor – Made
possible by a grant from the Martha Earp Foundation.
- The
painting of the auditorium – Made possible
by a grant from Avanti Management and The Berkman Foundation.
- A
new sound system - Made possible by a grant from The
Berkman Foundation.
Future improvements which will commence
in January include:
- New Curtains and Rigging – Made possible
by a grant from The Berkman Foundation.
- New Lighting – Made possible by a grant
from The Berkman Foundation.
The next major project
will be the replacement of the current seats
and the installation of new carpeting. Alumni and
friends
of Catholic Central may purchase a seat for $200 and an engraved
plate will be placed on the arm of the seat signifying the
purchaser. Over 193 seats have already been purchased. Information

Central High School at 740-264-5538.
Through the efforts of our grant writer, Mrs. Dolores
Michnowicz, and the direction of the Fine Arts Committee,
this project
would not be possible. However, the support of Mr. Scott Stevens
and the Louis and Sandra Berkman Foundation has made it possible
to initiate and complete these current projects. Because of
the benevolence of the Berkman Foundation, the future designation
of the auditorium will be known as “The Berkman Theater
in Lanman Hall.” A formal dedication of the auditorium
will be announced at a later date.
